Words Of Faith When The Infertility Storm Hits

Since Sunday is an observed day of rest for many people, I thought I’d reserve my Sunday posts for words of faith that helped us through some our darkest days, and helped give us perspective when everything seemed out of whack.

One thing our infertility therapist helped me understand was the value of relaxation and focusing on the simple act of breathing in and breathing out.  Since that was very hard when my mind and heart were spiraling out of control, a whispered or spoken meditation often helped distract those thoughts, until all I heard were the words of faith, or inspiration or distraction, and ultimately found myself breathing peace in, and breathing everything else out.

“Now, faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1, NIV)”
― , Holy Bible: New International Version

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

“I dont think that we’re meant to understand it all the time. I think that sometimes we just have to have faith.”
Nicholas Sparks, A Walk to Remember

Faith is believing in something when common sense tells you not to.

From the movie, “Miracle On 34th Street”

Sometimes the things we can’t change,
end up changing us instead.
