Infertility Awareness: Guy Power Joining The Movement

JOIN THE MOVEMENT 2013

As National Infertility Awareness Week approaches I am gearing up to mount a guy power offensive here in the hopes there will be a more vocal male component in the infertility awareness movement.

I think it is more important than ever for men to Join The Movement, as we have witnessed a new breed of anti-family building bully hit the infertility community, and in the case of North Dakota, gain some momentum that could cause collateral damage to couples seeking treatment there.

It is time that someone spoke to the underlying issues that keep creating anti-family building bills, so I am going work on some posts to shed light on the forces that motivate the creation of “embryo tracking” legislation.

I am planning to interview Arizona reproductive endocrinologists to shed some light on “what goes on inside IVF labs”,  since the state senate seems to be so interested in that subject.

I am hoping to hammer home the message that infertility is NOT JUST A WOMAN’S ISSUE anymore.  Guys need to know just as much about reproductive challenges they may face, and what to expect when they hit that first sample cup, go to that first infertility consult, or are hit with the first string of acronyms at the consult.

Nutrition and infertility has to be one of the big awareness topics, so that couples can maximize their chances of success not only with medical assistance, but with anti-inflammatory eating decisions that could not only improve infertility outcomes, but ensure a healthy mom, baby and dad AFTER that little bundle of joy arrives.

I plan to speak to any issues that women going through infertility aren’t comfortable talking about with their DHs.   For the most part I will be speaking from my own perspective about infertility, but I still have friends I stay in contact with who became fathers through adoption, donor embryo, surrogate and donor egg, so if you’ve got questions along those lines, please message them or email them to me.

KEEP IN MIND—INFERTILITY AWARENESS WEEK STARTS 4/21 SO THE SOONER YOU SEND ME ANY QUESTIONS, THE SOONER I CAN BEGIN BLOG POSTS TO ADDRESS THEM.

Looking forward to “joining the movement” in a big way this year.
