I walked away from another Tucson Resolve support group inspired and awed.
The song The Fighter kept playing through my head as I listened to stories of more couples fighting through the pain of shots, the uncertainty of stim drug follicle growth, the doubt of whether this time it would be different, and still finding time to make jokes and discuss openly things that you rarely ever hear among a group of people in a library meeting room.
I love these people.
They inspire me.
When I hear their stories I realize I’m surrounded by undeniable faith and persistence in something they haven’t seen.
They get knocked down.
But they don’t stay down.
And when they get back up, they come out swinging.
I pray that each one of them has their winning moment against the Apollo Creed, or Clubber Lang or Drago they face in their infertility battles.
I love being in the ring with them at every support group, cheering them on, waiting for them to make the full 15 rounds to ultimate victory. Or better yet score a knockout in the 1st or 2nd round
Without a doubt, they epitomize what is to be “The Fighter”
