Please help the guys who will learn that they are officially part of the 1 in 8 couples that are considered infertile after 1 year of trying to have a baby with no success.
Give them the wisdom to understand that one year in infertility is a long time, and the older they are when they get this news, the more urgency there is to take action.
Give them the patience to learn the foreign language of infertility, with its many acronyms, and confusing protocols and timelines.
Give them the courage to discuss topics that will be uncomfortable as they learn more about their spouse’s reproductive system than they ever wanted to know. Help them to understand the more they know, the less confusing the process will be.
Give them the strength to be willing to go the distance to realize their dream of parenthood, even if it means there will be tears, financial challenges, anger, and confusion along the way.
Give them the insight to see the gift they give their wives by being supportive teammates, and recognizing that the biological connection to motherhood is hardwired by nature, and is as necessary as breathing for many women.
Give them the comfort to know that although the journey they are about to embark on will not be easy, it will most certainly be worth it.
