Imagination Verses Knowledge

Imagination is more important than knowledge

Albert Einstein

I don’t know why this quote got my attention today.

In a business where so much of my day is spent mining the knowledge bases of so many different people to make home loans, I find my brain screaming for something imaginative to do.

Why the hell have we created a society that requires so much reliance on knowledge to be compensated well for what we do every day?

Elliana has asked me lately why I think Eve ate the apple, and why I think God was so against us having knowledge.

Talk about a tough one.

Maybe it’s because he knew we wouldn’t know what to do with it.

The opposite of a world filled with plenty of what every one needs is…well…the world we have now.

Some have a lot.  Many have enough.  A lot have very little to nothing.

Knowledge says that there isn’t enough for everyone to spread it all around evenly.

Not enough resources.

My guess is our imagination is far more powerful than we realize.

We just don’t use it because we’ve been so conditioned to work within the confines of knowledge in the world we’ve created.

Imagination is also so freeing.

It allows us to envision the things we can’t see, haven’t seen, want to see.

I’ve had enough knowledge for today.

I’m going for a walk with my imagination tonight.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
