Welcome to AlmostAFather2.com

Thanks for visiting my male infertility support site, and let me introduce myself.

My name is Denny Ceizyk

Twenty-six years ago I made my wife promise not to tell anyone about my low sperm count. However, a few years of living in silence led me to the irrational moment when I wanted to kill myself because for the first time in my marriage, I couldn’t give my wife the one thing she wanted more than anything in the world – a baby.

Thankfully, the day after a drunken boat ride with all-you-can-drink margaritas, I came to my senses and did something that liberated me – I told someone I had a low sperm count. Since then I’ve become something I never thought I’d be: a loud voice discussing the male infertility perspective.

Male fertility is declining, while male infertility is on the rise

I was shocked recently, when 99 million results came up after googling the words “male infertility.” I figured reproductive science must have come up with ways to treat male fertility since two decades have passed since I went through IVF. I was wrong.  So it’s time to speak up again…which is something I’ve been doing for a long time now.

Since the fateful day I ended my self-imposed silence, I have:

  • Written, published a book, Almost A Father, about overcoming male infertility and working as a team with my wife to bring our soul baby into this world
  • Appeared on the CBS Early Show to tell the world about my low sperm count
  • Started and run the first couple’s infertility support group in the country for Resolve
  • Been featured in interviews with the New York Times, Huffington Post and ABCNews.com
  • Received a “Best Blog” nomination from Resolve, The National Infertility Association’s National Infertility Awareness Week
  • Lobbied for infertility rights in Washington, D.C.
  • Helped stop embryo-tracking bills threatened by state governments

My six year, $70,000, five different fertility clinics, two trips to New Jersey in the aftermath of 9/11, multiple miscarriage and 11 IVF journey ended with the birth of my now 20-year-old formerly-frozen embryo daughter.

My new mission for Almost a Father

Now I’m on a male fertility mission with one simple purpose: To serve the needs of the 50% of couples that will go through infertility due to some male fertility issue.

I’m here to provide:

  • Support during those times when you don’t think anyone understands what you’re going through
  • A safe place to laugh, scream, cry, confide or celebrate milestones during your infertility trek
  • A place to find the latest information about male infertility breakthroughs
  • A site that compiles success rates of clinics that specialize in male factor IVF and treatments
  • Reviews of male fertility supplements and other infertility products to help you manage the physical, emotional and spiritual rigors of infertility treatments
  • Male infertility coaching for men only or couples coaching if you both need an unbiased sounding board

The male fertility clock is ticking, whether you like it or not

One thing I learned about the infertility journey is this: The biological clock doesn’t stop ticking for anyone.

You need to know what you want and develop a plan to get it sooner than later. That means knowing exactly what your fertility issues are, what infertility treatments have the highest odds for success, and what doctors specialize in helping you overcome those obstacles.

I live  in Nashville, TN with my wife, Lisa of 32 years and my formerly-frozen embryo, Elliana Faith, who is now attending college.  You can contact me at 520-975-8810 or by email at dennyceizykjr@gmail.com
